Rules for entry

These terms & conditions apply to Tamreen competitions.
The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (Al Bidda Tower, PO Box 62022, Doha, Qatar) is the promoter of this competition, hereby referred to as the "Promoter")

  1. The competition is open to students aged eight to 18 from all registered schools, youth groups and community groups in Qatar. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families are excluded from entering the competition.
  2. The competition is free to enter.
  3. Entries should be submitted via the online entry form using an email address that is registered with a school, youth group or community group in Qatar. 
  4. The competition opens on 22 November 2021 and ends on 21 December 2021. No entries will be accepted after this date.

Competition Entries

  1. There is no limit on the number of entries that a school/ youth group/ community group may submit, but only one entry can be submitted per student.
  2. Entries can be submitted in a number of formats, including PDF, Word document, PowerPoint or video (public YouTube or Vimeo link). Written pieces should be no more than 500 words with a maximum file size of 15MB.
  3. Entries can be submitted in English or Arabic. 
  4. All schools, youth groups or community groups entering students for the competition must complete the online form.
    i. a member of staff in the school, youth group or community group is required to provide the names of the students they are entering into the competition.
    ii. at least one teacher or group leader must be registered on Tamreen at the time of submission.
    iii. a member of staff from the school, youth group or community group is required to agree for any entries submitted by students to potentially be included as examples of good entries in future publications by the Promoter. Should a student's entry be selected for this reason, the Promoter will contact the school, youth group or community group and will discuss how the entry will be used. The Promoter will not use any entries without full approval. 
  5. Incomplete, illegible or corrupt entries, or those not in accordance with entry instructions, will not be accepted.
  6. No responsibility is accepted for entries that lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of entry will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
  7. Entrants who do not provide correct details or those who make an entry on someone else's behalf without their permission will be disqualified.
  8. Entries from agents, third parties, organised groups or entries automatically generated by a computer will not be accepted. 
  9. In all cases, data provided by entrants will only be used for the purposes of administering this competition and for no other purpose.
  10. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for personal contact details spelled incorrectly by entrants.

  12. Entries must not:
    a. be violent, profane or obscene, negative or/ and discriminatory towards any ethnic, racial, religious, professional, age group or gender.
    b. be offensive or be about hate, or have any particular political agenda or message.
    c. defame, misrepresent or contain negative remarks about the Promoter and its products, or other people, products and companies.
    d. communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/ or goodwill with which Promoter wishes to associate.
    e. contain commercial names or trademarks owned by others or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, without permission, or contain any personal identification, such as licence plate numbers, personal names, email addresses or street addresses.
    f. contain copyrighted materials owned by others (including photographs, sculptures, paintings and other works of art or images published on websites or in television, films or other media or music samples) without permission.
    g. contain materials embodying photographs, footage or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead without permission.
    h. promote or be about the use of tobacco, firearms/ weapons, illegal drugs or any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous.
    i. depict any law violations or be in violation of any law.
    j. depict any inappropriate or offensive material, which may be reported to the appropriate authorities.


  1. The entrant(s) will be judged in one of three age categories: 8-11 years old, 12-15 years old and 16-18 years old. A judging panel will select one winner for each category. The judges' decision is final.

Prizes and winner notification

  1. The prizes:TBC
  2. The SC is under no commitment to create or use any submissions. 
  3. The prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable. There are no cash or other prize alternatives available in whole or in part. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Promoter, the prizes will only be awarded directly to the winners. Prizes cannot be sold, auctioned or otherwise transferred to a third party.
  4. The prizes may be subject to change. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to offer alternative prizes of equal value. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute similar alternatives of equal or greater value or to remove a prize. 
  5. The school, youth group or community group of the winning entrant(s) will be notified by the SC within 30 days of the submission deadline
  6. The school, youth group or community group of the winning entrant(s) must to give permission on behalf of the winners' parent/ guardians for the winners' first name, school and hometown to be used for publicity purposes. A prize acceptance form will be provided, which must be returned within one week. If it is not received by this date, new winners, and therefore new winning schools, will be selected.
  7. The winners will be formally announced following receipt of the acceptance form. 
  8. The winning school, youth group or community group may be required to participate in publicity arising from this competition.
  9. This publicity may involve participating at an event that may be filmed and photographed by various film crews. Usage will include all audio-visual media in perpetuity.
    a. The Promoter will deliver an information pack to the winning school, youth group or community group with release forms for parents to sign allowing permission for this filming.
    b. In the instance that a parent does not wish their child to be filmed at the event, they must make this clear in the release form and return this to the Promoter in advance of the event so that the organisers can ensure that third-party film crews adhere to this demand on the day.


  1. By entering the competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the terms & conditions, and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller, for the purposes of the administration of this competition. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
  2. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered as a result of entering this competition or accepting the prize. Nothing shall exclude the liability of the Promoter for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
  3. Teachers or group leaders are required to provide students’ names in order to enter them in the competition. This data will be used solely to administer the competition and will be destroyed on 1 January 2022, following the winners claiming their prize.
  4. The Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, modify, amend, cancel or suspend these terms & conditions at any time if it deems this necessary or if circumstances arise beyond its control.
  5. The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to disqualify from this competition any entrant it believes has not complied with these terms & conditions or acted in good faith.
  6. All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter or arising out of the entrants’ involvement in the competition will become the property of the Promoter on receipt or creation and will not be returned. By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you agree to:
    a. assign to the Promoter all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee.
    b. waive all moral rights, in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under Law No. 7 of 2002 on the Protection of Copyright and Related Rights as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.
  7. The Promoter’s decisions are final in all matters relating to this competition and no correspondence will be entered into.
  8. Entries will be automatically reviewed and moderated for content before being judged; however, this review does not relieve you from responsibility to comply with these terms & conditions. Any entry that is found, at any time, to not comply with these terms & conditions or that otherwise contains prohibited or inappropriate content, as determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion, will be disqualified. The Promoter shall have sole and final determination as to which entries are eligible to take part in this competition and no correspondence will be entered into.
